“Harriers” turn out in force | Print |

To you “Harriers” at the Race 4 Life event on Moor Park on Sunday 21st June -

a big thank you!

There were enough members, including Ribble Way competitors, to marshal more than the required number of twists and turns on the park, with some parts of the course, which could be considered to be risky, also being manned.
We were even able to offer assistance at the finish of the race by giving out GOODY BAGS.
Thanks again,
Joe

Harriers at Lever Park Trail

The first race in the 2009 “Tour of Horwich”, with its five races in six days, saw four Harriers line up for the start of the tough 10k trail race in Lever Park.

The race is mostly run on paths and bumpy trails but includes a tough hill ascent, done twice, that leaves many wishing they hadn`t gone too fast on the first lap!

Dave Watson was an excellent 16th (& 4th vet 40) in 40.27. Eddy Little was 43rd in 46.51 and bringing the team to 3rd place were Steve Jackson (48.17) and Stephen Young (48.20)

To all the marshalls, helpers, buttymakers, timekeepers, results crew and anyone else I've missed, a very big thankyou for your help and support on the night and in previous years.
The event went well except for the weather - it's little wonder that with supporters like yourselves that we are the 'famous' Preston Harriers.
Thanks again,

Alan
